GERMAN COCKROACHES FOCAL FECAL POINTS
Cockroaches and Termites are some of the oldest living insects dating back over 350 million years, relatively unchanged in their present appearance.
The German Cockroach is originally from Africa but has manged to travel with humans everywhere humans go!
Although the further back in time you go, the bigger everything was! If you look at a diagram of life in the ocean in prehistoric times everything is huge and has rows of sharp teeth, i don’t think I would go swimming back then!
Cockroaches have adapted throughout history to inhabit many parts of the world, although there are native Cockroaches in the United States the most problem pest Cockroaches are from other parts of the world! The German Cockroach is originally from Africa but has manged to travel with humans everywhere humans go!
German Cockroaches are very different from their other Roach cousins because they prefer to live indoors and have adapted the ability to live and breed in our homes and businesses! Other Cockroach species spend their time outside and will only occasionally enter your structure although in the Las Vegas valley it would seem all Roaches want to be in your house!
German Cockroaches have a huge biological pottential and may reproduce in large numbers in a small amount of time! If your home or business becomes infested with German Cockroaches it can get out of control very quickly and DIY pest control will never elliminate the infestation!
German Cockroaches go through an incomplete life cycle consisting of egg, nymph, and adult. German Cockroaches are omnivorous and will feed on a wide variety of foods which are always available in a kitchen, every time someone does dishes that is a water source! German Cockroaches can go a long time without food but not as long without water, German Cockroaches are known to cannibalize even when their is an alternative food source! If one German Cockroach decides to take a bite out of the other one, German Cockroaches can live almost a month without a head!
German Cockroaches congregate in the same areas known as focal fecal points, these hiding places can be anywhere and the more infested you get the less hiding places they have. German Cockroaches will hang out in these areas until they feel safe enough to search for food or mate, baby German Cockroaches or nymphs usually stick to these focal fecal points because they can easily be eaten by other Cockroaches and their diet consists of the fecal stains the adult cockroaches leave behind!
